Thundering Powertrain

Powered by a Ford Performance-developed 5.2L supercharged V8, the Mustang GTD lets loose 815 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque on the open road. A lightweight Akrapovic exhaust allows the engine to breathe better while greatly amplifying its spine-tingling roar. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard, as is Mustang tradition, and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission manages power delivery. When everything comes together, the racebred powertrain propels the Mustang GTD to a blistering top speed of 202 mph.

Carbon-Fiber Body

The Mustang GTD is among the few production vehicles to feature a carbon fiber body instead of aluminum or steel. Carbon fiber is used in the drive shaft, body panels, aero rear wing, underbody aerodynamic tray, and several other components to give the supercar a track-worthy strength-to-weight ratio. The low overall weight translates to less inertia, which, in turn, allows the Mustang GTD to make sharp turns at high speeds.

Multimatic DSSV Technology

A semi-active suspension with Multimatic DSSV dampers underpins the supercar, reducing body roll and maximizing traction. Multimatic DSSV technology incorporates precisely machined openings in spool valves to regulate oil flow, which provides more precise adaptive damping than traditional shim-stack-based systems. The suspension also includes an exclusive dual-ride height feature that lets drivers reduce ground clearance on demand.

Carbon Ceramic Brakes

To ensure the Mustang GTD only goes as far as you want, carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes are offered as standard equipment. The setup consists of six-piston front calipers that produce tremendous friction when you press the brake pedal. Multi-purpose front fender vents supply cool air to the brakes, preventing them from overheating. The Brembo brakes are paired with 325 mm front and 345 mm rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires that minimize skidding, further reducing the stopping distance.

Immersive Dual Display

The Mustang GTD’s cockpit features a dual display that combines a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster and a 13.2-inch infotainment screen. The displays are powered by Unreal Engine, which is Epic Games’ advanced 3D creation tool powering video games such as Fortnite. This allows each screen to render 3D graphics in real time, making the Mustang GTD’s cockpit more immersive. The center touchscreen also features SYNC 4 technology that adds wireless smartphone connectivity, natural voice recognition, and several other functions.

The Mustang GTD is the most powerful Mustang to ever roll off the factory floor, and its limited production numbers mean that only a few drivers will get their hands on one.
